Home of the Atheist Community of Austin
Freethought Library is a community center, broadcast studio, secular products store, library and - YES - home of the ACA. All of these services are made possible by generous donations from freethinkers and like-minded individuals who recognize Austin’s need and desire for an inviting space where thoughts are free to flow, dogmas are questioned, and the secular community can gather.
Come join us to help make Austin a more rational place, all while building relationships that will last a lifetime!
Library Hours
11:00 am – 9:00 pm daily
Community Center
A variety of events are held at the library including gaming days, activist workshops, book clubs, after-lecture pizza parties, podcast viewings, ACA elections, and board meetings. We have plenty of space and time, so get involved and see what fun and informative things you can host.
Broadcast Studio
ACA members may also take advantage of our professional broadcast equipment to create original content and share it with the world. Add to our line-up of thought provoking shows like The Atheist Experience tv program and The Non-Prophets and Godless Bitches podcasts.
Secular Products Store
The latest books by secular thinkers, bumper stickers, and decals to express your worldview—and more—are all available from the ACA to help support our operations and budget.
Lending Library
Our library of donated and specially selected texts is at the heart of our building. Members may check out titles, but all are welcome to come browse and hang out. While you are here, relax with our free food and drink selection.
