About the speaker
Danielle Tierney has worked for Planned Parenthood in Austin since 1997. In her current capacity as Director of Public Affairs, she is responsible for all advocacy and government affairs, media relations, and marketing. She has served on the board of directors for the Texas Association of Planned Parenthood Affiliates and received the honorary champion award from Capital Area Democratic Women for community leadership in 2005. Danielle is a volunteer for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Palm Elementary School Choir.

Before moving to Austin, Danielle lived in Nashville, TN, where she worked at an independent record label and taught private music lessons. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Music.

Note that this lecture will be on the 4th Sunday of July, not the usual 3rd Sunday.

Atheist Community of Austin

The Atheist Community of Austin is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting positive atheism and the separation of church and state. The ACA serves the local Austin community through outreach programs, providing informational resources and various volunteer activities. In addition, the ACA serves the community-at-large through free online portals including informational wikis, regular audio/video podcasts and interactive blogs.

We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.
